Truly God's Own Country!

So I went to Kochi/Cochin for a couple of days (finally my prayers were answered!) and basically had a great time. Saw the city, a beach, mountains and even a waterfall! All in one package, eh? Thought of going ahead to Munnar but somehow couldn't work it out. The weather was beautiful. I expected it to be just like Bombay, but was pleasantly surprised. None of the stifling humidity, probably because it's still February. This was my second trip to beautiful Kerala, the first being to Trivandrum/Thiruvananthapuram when I was very, very young.

Here are a few snapshots that sum up my trip pretty well (this time round I won't write much, unlike my trip to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia). Enjoy the virtual tour!

Forgot the name of this place, but it was on the way to Athirapally Falls

A beautiful restaurant on the way to Athirapally Falls

Athirapally Falls. Got really pooped climbing back up from here!

A beautiful flower that papa picked up from the ground and gave me

Rubber tree plantation. Look at the tiny cup at the bottom!

The tallest/highest coconut tree I've ever seen!

Athirapally Falls. Mummy was too tired to go all the way down, so she kept herself happy by looking from a distance!

  7. fathima, i was born in brought up in bombay and had to move to delhi all of a sudden a couple of years back. i grew up with lots of coconut and banana trees around me in a humid, seaside climate. delhi is totally the opposite. sure, we have lots of greenery but the coastline always always appeals to me more! maybe that's why i enjoyed kerala so much!

  8. Lovely pictures. I had taken for granted the beauty and the interesting things to do in this place while I was there. Being born and brought up there, I always wanted to venture out. I have worked in Bangalore and Mumbai and doing my college in Manipal. And damn, I miss Kerala! This post brought back so many memories.
